Art Requirements

If you need assistance preparing your artwork, our professional staff artists can help make your ideas a reality.

Metal Litho Tabs or Plastic Tags

Please submit artwork in actual size as Adobe Illustrator (vector) files, with all fonts outlined. Use any standard solid Pantone colors, except metallics and fluorescents. If ordering 4-color process tabs or tags, you may submit art as high-resolution CMYK Photoshop JPGs or TIFs. Sorry, no PDFs, InDesign, Quark or Microsoft Word files. You will receive a digital proof for your approval prior to production.

Applique and Silkscreen Banners and Flags

Please submit all artwork as Adobe Illustrator (vector) files, with all fonts outlined. Sorry, we do not accept PDFs, JPGs, TIFs, or art created in page layout programs such as InDesign, Quark or Microsoft Word. Do not place such images into the Illustrator artwork. Illustrator artwork may be scaled (for example, one inch = one foot). Applique and Silkscreen artwork should contain only solid, hard-edge graphics, such as logos and type; no gradations or photos. For applique, select all colors from our Nylon Color Chart (see Materials & Methods). For Silkscreen, please specify printed graphics using solid Pantone numbered colors (except metallic and fluorescent); for backgrounds, please select colors from our Nylon Color Chart.

Digitally Printed Banners and Flags

Please create artwork in either Adobe Illustrator (for solid graphics) or Adobe Photoshop (for designs incorporating gradations or photos). For graphics such as logos and lettering, please specify solid Pantone numbered colors (except metallic and fluorescent). For photos, please use CMYK colors. Artwork may be scaled (for example, one inch = one foot). Make sure that all bitmapped images (photos, gradations) have a resolution of at least 75 pixels per inch when enlarged to full reproduction size. Please contact us for art questions and selection of fabrics for digital printing.

Finishing Specs

Please let us know how your banners will be installed and the site conditions, so we can “finish” them properly, including the number and location of grommets, width of pole pockets, reinforcing of hems and corners, wind vents, etc. We will recommend the best finishing techniques for your purpose.

Architectural and Engineering Renderings

For large-scale or multi-banner jobs with special installation requirements, please send us architectural renderings, engineering diagrams, and site photos so we can produce banners with proper finishing. We can also create shop drawings for your project if needed.
